This is possibly going to be my last post until around December 28th, but maybe not. I might be able to get in one or two in the midst of the visiting family, drowning in amazing food, and lots of after Christmas sales. =]
I wish you all the brightest and most blessed Christmas! Be safe and be merry!
I now leave you with an all white, Swedish home via Sköna hem - Enjoy!
From my semi-fluent swedish background - I gather the home is made entirely of plaster. Hmmm

I just had to! Sorry if you get tired of hearing about Black Friday sales and such but the title was perfect for this time of year. So yes, you guessed it - the focus will be on black in design. Of course there may be some other accent colors surrounding, but try to look for just black. There may be a black and white theme BUT the black part of the room is the main reason I am posting the photo.
Enjoy & happy Friday!! One week until Christmas!

I have to admit that this chair is a bit scary looking. Reminds me of a spider!

Ahhh red! Red has been one of my favorite colors since I was a little girl. I always had to wear red nail polish on Christmas and now I always wear it on my birthday which is also World AIDS Day.
Enjoy!

We still have ours like this!
This little kitchen reminds me of my Strawberry Shortcake toys!

The famous Arne Jacobsen Swan Chair

And I still love SMEG and hope to have one someday!
And last but not least - the 1960's pod chair.
It looks like it would be so comfy if you were eight years old.

Think about how much white is used in design? There are so many elements from walls, to floors, to furniture to bedding. One of my favorite ways that white is used in design and decor - is black and white. Sometime soon I will do a feature of black and white rooms but for now the photos you are going to see are focused on the white in the room - not the other colors.

I just love this bike by, Madsen Cycles - Enjoy!!
Love the green accent in the art over the bed.

A famous Eames mod rocker. I am guaranteed to have one of these in my baby's room some day.
Love the Fatboy beanbag chair.

It's color week! I am going to feature five days of my favorite colors.
Ten photos of all kind of design with anything from interiors, to furniture, to product design.
Enjoy orange!
This is the Leica $14,000 Hermes camera. There is only going to be 100 of them.
Can you imagine dropping this? I would be devastated if it just stopped working one day.
I suppose that you could just keep it as a collector's item.
Love this wallpaper. I could see me using it for one wall in my baby room one day.
Looks like a very long bar to hang out in.

I wonder how comfortable this really can be?

A classic.
Love gray and orange together.

These Magna-Tiles look so cool! I probably could wind up playing with them for hours!
I love building things and puzzles.

In a recent newsletter from, Wallpaper, I saw this great townhouse in Antwerp, Belgium and just had to feature it! Built by Belgian architects, CSD Architecten - I just love the views from the street. There is so much natural light throughout the house and the living area with a long couch and nice warm fireplace make for a comfortable place to relax.

I have been ultra sick with bronchitis but today I have felt so much better except that I have really sore stomach muscles from coughing so much!
I just love the shelf system by Henry Julier of New York City. They have a magnetic system beneath each surface. Great idea, right?

Young Swedish furniture brand, A2 Design Studio have some outstanding design. The use of color is perfect when you are searching for a new look. Sometimes white walls are a blessing without paint, because you have the opportunity to create a new world with just furniture and accessories.

This brightly colored geometric wall cabinet is just the coolest! I would love to have it in my office/studio against white walls with a single black rug in the middle of the floor. Ah isn't it nice to dream?

I have been pretty ill. =( Bronchitis and respiratory stuff is the worst. I hate the feeling when my body is being defeated. So cheer me on for getting better soon!
UK sites that I have featured in the past, like: JJ Locations and Shootfactory are there if you need a space for shooting a scene or photography session and I have found another site to add to the list - Air Space is full of endless choices of architecture and interiors to fit your needs.
I chose this kitschy home mainly because I just love the 50's!
Located in Middlesex, UK.

Zurich, Switzerland is one of the smaller European cities that can just take your breath away when just looking at photos. I wish to visit there someday, but for now all I have are some great websites that show me how beautiful Zurich is.
I came across some photos of the new Google offices in Zurich recently and thought I would share. There have been past photos of corporate offices that I have seen that are so creatively designed that I know I would enjoy working there without a doubt. Being in a comfortable environment along with cool people - well, that could never go wrong, right? ;)

Well here comes another favorite Apartment Therapy home tour! The home of Teresa from Chicago. She moved to Brooklyn shortly after the house tour was completed but at least there are some great photos to share of the Gold Coast space. The high-rise was a rocking hotel in the 1950's-1960's and designed by Bertrand Goldberg of Marina City fame. I love how there is some great design in such a small space.

Yesterday was my 30th birthday! =)
No, I don't feel any different.
No, I did not cry!
I feel great!
I just love New England and this kind of home is exactly what I think of when I visit the stunning shorelines. Designed by, Eck|MacNeely from Boston, Massachusetts, the 1,400 square foot home is a real beauty. Yes, it might be a little bit more on the traditional side but I love that the classic style is kept alive. The Temple Residence is a waterfront architectural example of what New England should look like. It is just one of the many homes that Mac Neely have designed. They also have an impressive interior design portfolio with beautiful Boston city homes.

Hi! Monday again? How was your Thanksgiving weekend? I hope you weren't in too much of a food coma.
Toady, I am featuring a home full of simply clean lines and minimalist design. The 'AR' home by, architects, Katsufumi Kubota has designed. To me, with the view this home offers - it would be the perfect place for a nice relaxing iced tea and book. The two-story, concrete construction is just shy of 2,000 square feet living space. It might just be me, but I think I would add one colored wall. ;)
Be sure to look through their entire projects page. There is some beautiful works not to be missed.

It's Apartment Therapy house tour time! I adore the home of, Lauren and Eric's Modern Space in Kansas City, Missouri. Lauren and Eric Wendlandt, the architects and designers of, Framework - have a really impressive history and portfolio. I am absolutely in love!
Their home is also their office. Their home is called the Vivienda Moderna and was most of the home was designed on a budget.

What a cutie puppy!

I didn't even know about the Aqua Tower in Chicago until reading an article about it's completion recently. The 819 foot building began construction in 2007 by studio gang architects based in Chicago. The building was designed by Jeanne Gang. In 2008 she was awarded as the first American firm headed by a woman. The Aqua Tower is 82 stories and is mostly residential.
I just love how the Aqua is designed to look like rippling waves. It is so intriguing!

Hello! I am back from my trip to Amsterdam! I still love it there and it is one of my top favorite cities till this day.
I saved the photos for this home a little while ago and stupidly forgot to save the links to where they came from. One great thing about design is when the historical/original home is kept on the outside and made modern on the inside. This place is a prime example of just that. It has the Victorian charm but has an addition on the back of the house that you couldn't make more contemporary. I think it is a great living space and I just had to share.
